Ganter masters the methods of natural science as an instrument as well as pictorial rendition as an artist. This unique interplay leads to compulsory, out of control coincidence and allows the unimaginable between astonishment and creepiness to emerge. Its likeness is to something that can exist naturally in the Bermuda Triangle of art, science, and narrative history. The base materials are slides and color negatives that have been subjected to swift-motion decay and corrosion: Bacteria cultures and chemicals rearrange the surfaces of the slides, disintegrating forms and colors to bring to life new, formerly unseen elements.
