The artist Tiziana Jill Beck (born 1982) primarily works in drawings, often combined with artistic publications, installative objects, and currently paintings. In her works Beck mixes the sense and nonsense of the everyday, current events and influences from the history of art, literature and pop culture, which she defamiliarizes in her pictorial compositions, abstracting them and placing them in new contexts. Her work is characterized by a great joy in experimentation with material, form, color and perspective. In her picture series she explores and develops the methods of repetition, variation and the sampling of motifs, as well as their translation into other media and disciplines. Tiziana studied at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin and the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig where she is currently a master student of Christoph Ruckhäberle. After extended stays in South Korea and Paris, Tiziana Jill Beck lives and works now in Berlin.
